Welcome to the Secular Nations Organization website. International association for promotion of freedom of speech and to promote the separation of religion* from state and media.
Basic facts
The Secular Nations Organization (SNO) was established in 2006 to help create links within media and politics around the world. The Organization is mandated to lead and co-ordinate international funding to promote information, help governments and support for free thinking media. Its primary purpose is to safeguard human rights and the well-being of people. It strives to ensure that everyone can exercise the right to speak out and find the resources needed to finance their own secular projects.
In the last three decades, the situation in each country has worsened from religious freedoms being seriously restricted in over 50 nations to strong push of humanist. A need to help people or associations wishing to keep freedom of thought is necessary today. The objective of SNO is to promote the International Secular Charter, inform public of the need for protection against misleading religious leaders or misleading organisations and to give practical knowledge to locals.
